Kunai the 10th: Video/Action Cianwood

OKAY, who got to my Charmander?! [The camera of the gear gets directed... at a Charizard.] When I went to sleep she was tiny, and now she's HUGE!

And she still seems to be of a mind of refusing the idea of going in her pokeball. She's never been in one before and I have no idea how I'm supposed to go anywhere with her now since, you know, she's no longer small enough to carry.

Has this happened to any of you?!

Well, that's... usually basic evolution, but did you say she was a Charmander before? She should have had to evolve into a Charmeleon before moving on to her final form. I mean, I suppose she could have evolved twice in one night, if she held off on her first evolution long enough, but I've never heard of that happening before...

[Realizing she's rambling, Twilight stops mid-thought and takes a moment to regather herself.]

Er, as for your second question, I should point out that she is now large enough to carry you. And she has wings. So if you have the Fly HM and either the Zephyr or Rainbow Badge, that should be no problem at all.

Oh hey! Long time no see. Yeah she was refusing and refusing and refusing to evolve so this is so... abrupt. I should she'd never decide to you know? Then again she's been fussing at the wings since I've been awake so maybe that's why.

[He hummed and nodded.] I'm trying for that HM soon actually, Though, ah, she's still going to want to go into buildings with me, that's the big issue.

Hmmm, my Slowpoke was the same way for a while, though I guess with a species name like that it's no real surprise. Turned out he was just waiting until we got to the sea, that or our arrival in Olivine was just coincidentally timed when he decided to finally get around to evolving. With yours... maybe she just knew what her second evolution was like and wanted to, for lack of a better term, "skip" it?

Ahhh, yes, that would be a problem. Come to think of it, my friend Applejack has a Drifblim who does the same thing. He's far too huge to go anywhere inside, but he hates his ball. She ended up having him use the Minimize move to shrink himself, but I'm pretty sure Charizard can't learn that one. What do you think the odds are that she'll change her mind when she tries to force herself into a few buildings and finds herself repeatedly feeling cramped?

She wouldn't tell me why though. Nope, just very adamant 'no' every time I asked her about it. I know she knows more words than that. As for that... she'll probably just wait outside. [He huffed, shaking his head.]

Strange. Well, I guess if she doesn't want to explain it, there's really nothing to be done about it. She's entitled to her secrets just like anyone else.

[She briefly imagines a Charizard standing outside a door, arms folded across its chest like a petulant child.] ... Can she be trusted to behave herself like that?

Yeah, she's pretty spoiled, but she's never been one of the troublemakers. [He grinned at the dragon when she gave a disgruntled noise at his words.]

Now that she's big, there's no reason to carry her around. Just make her walk.

[Come on Obito, she's got legs.]

[Hikaru stares... just stares, for a moment. This guy can't be serious.]

You're joking, right? I would want my Charmander to grow as big as he could so that he can be the best he can be.

...How long were you asleep?

I didn't say I intended to try to carry her! She's just huge now. Most places don't let in Pokemon that big!

Maybe... six hours? Yeah, that sounds about right.

She hasn't wanted to evolve! I've been asking her and prodding her for months! Then, this. I'm just really confused what brought it on, okay?

Maybe she wanted privacy. A lady doesn't like to change when there's a man in the room, you know!

So your Charmander became a Charizard in six hours...What in the world were you doing to make it evolve so quickly!?!

[Oh it's that dancing kid.]

Yeah, that do that whenever they feel like it. My Sentret never even bothered.

[He stared at him for a moment.]

If that was all it was she could've said so!

What do you mean quickly? I've been trying to coax her into it for months!

I was starting to think she wouldn't bother either. She kept telling me no!

Considering you mentioned you've been prodding her for months, she probably didn't feel like dealing with your bull.

[Shrugs.]

I know I certainly wouldn't want to deal with someone constantly prodding me to do anything.

I only really poked her when someone else evolved and I had the stuff out anyway. [He snorted softly.] Matter of convenience at that point.

I've got it, then.

[He nods and holds up a finger.]

Maybe she actually hates you.

Nope, definitely not. This is the pokemon that would pitch an absolute fit if I tried to separate her from myself for more than an hour since she hatched.

Do you understand that it sounds like she skip an evolution? Though she probably became a chameleon during those six hours.

Maybe she was scared.

If she did it I didn't see her do it! I just see the end results.
