[The feed clicked on, and for the first time in months everyone got a view of an orange and dark blue clad shinobi. His goggles were off his face, and his headband was nowhere on his head, likely because he was trying to scrub something off of the metal plate and had it in his lap, but otherwise he looked well enough, a bit bigger, lankier, but otherwise, fine.

Some people would be able to note he looked much more at peace too, under his irritation.]

Okay, enough is enough!

I mean it.

I fall out of contact for a few weeks, and what happens? Everyone up and decides to go home! Let me tell you something. I am so not thrilled by this.

So I don't care if we fought last we talked, or haven't spoken in months for no good reason, or anything like that. If you recognize me, come say hello to me because I would like to know who is left around here.

This is stupid, and I apologize right now in a blanket 'yeah I get it, it's my fault too' for any and everything that might've kept us from talking.

[Okay that was kind of a huge relief.]

I've apparently been glitching out for a few weeks and woke up out of it recently. Other than that I'm fine.

That's lucky. [He scrubbed at his face, honestly not sure what to say for a moment, but he finally gathered himself.]

Hey, cousin. How on top of events are you with the other shinobi? Just trying to figure out if I'm the only one that was radically out of the loop here.

[Big sigh.]

A few weeks ago, Naruto told me that I returned to help with the battle. And... Some other things too.

[Oh yeah he's looking incredibly uncomfortable now, mostly because he's clearly still bothered by what the future apparently has in store for him.]

[That got a bit of a squint. The future was, after all, suddenly a minefield.]

We can take this private if you wanna share.

[It takes him a bit to decide, but he changes the feed over to private before murmuring the words, still having trouble believing the fact of the matter himself.]

I killed him. I succeeded in my revenge in the future. That's what Naruto told me.

[That quieted him, and he peered at him for a moment.]

That explains a thing or two...

How do you feel about it?

[He makes a small noise as he looks down at the floor, away from the feed as he tries to answer that. But, really? He doesn't know how to, considering that it's his brother but at the same time his clan is avenged.

It's how he felt about Itachi leaving the region all over again, except on a different level.]

[He paused, then gave a slow nod.]

Yeah... I know that face. but, hey, look at it from this perspective. It's a thing that, even if it goes.... not the way it maybe could have, it means you managed your goals? [He grimaced.]

If that even helps...

... Yeah. They were avenged.

[Except he doesn't look like he's even sure that that's what he wants anymore. Even if he surpassed Itachi in strength, the fact that he still killed him...

He did hate him enough to want him dead before. He knows that. But that's not what he wants anymore, and knowing that he goes on to do it anyway...]

... They're avenged...

[His words were quiet.]

The future is real for other people from home, but it's not real for you. Don't make it real when you don't have to. You can't touch it, you can't make it do what you want, because you're not living it.

Live this life. Here.

I won't be able to stop it from becoming real - what I do here doesn't matter at all.

Look, I get it, okay? But you have to not focus on there.

You need to focus on here. You need to hope that maybe... maybe we're not all from the same timeline or something, and that you won't forget whenever you finally go home, and things will change, be better where you're from.

If everything is futile... there's no hope in that thought, right? So just... just view it as a look at maybe. Do you think you can?

I don't know.

[He was quiet for a moment, then nodded once, sharply.]

Well I do, so I'll just have to have enough faith for both of us.

[He doesn't answer verbally, only looking at the feed (and at Obito) for a second before glancing away with a hum. He can't really believe it but... He can't stop Obito from believing what he wants either.

In a way, he's kind of reminding him of Naruto right now...]

[He gave him a little smile then, seeing the reaction.]

Okay, good, so no arguments then. I'll have faith for you Sasuke.

Tch.

[Unfortunately that's probably as much of a response as Obito is going to get from Sasuke for that comment.]

[He was expecting more? No.]
