Erk, right! This is Obito's mail. Um, yes. Message. Do that. I'll call you.

[He quieted for a long long moment after that.]

I'm so sorry.

[It's obvious he really means that, and it is a few more beats before he resumes speaking.]

You left the village, and Sasuke eventually killed you. I don't have a clear idea on the time you had between but... Naruto vouches for you, and it seems you talked to him at some point about what had happened. At least, he seemed very sure of his information about you having been under orders.

It was... confirmation for my own guesses. I hadn't talked to the older you yet then either. But...

Is that what you wanted to know?

Naruto. The blond child of the Fourth. He had seemed to recognize me.

[And again there is that bothersome span of time where his memory fails him. He thinks he spoke to him then as well.]

I don't know why I would tell him anything, much less lies like those.

[But there was confirmation, if it was to be believed, that his brother would kill him. This, at least, is promising and as it should be.]

Much as you want to say they're lies... I'm not going to believe that.

I kind of got the information out of order, so... I can see how that would be true a little clearer than some folks.

[He gave another pause, then sighed.]

I mean that my last memory from home, being crushed to death... didn't actually kill me. I, erm, apparently get better and end up sort of taking a lot of things really badly and ruin everything ever.

... You are not very good with your descriptions, Obito.

I'm still hazy on how I'm not dead okay. No one seems to know that part.

But... you know, it's kind of long and messed up and involves me declaring war on everyone ever as I understand it...?

My future sucks and is kind of at fault for what happened to you, thus, I'm sorry.

[He needs to get back onto the original subject.]

[He sighed, letting that go though. He didn't really have a desire to explain the details after all.]

Not so many though. Me, Naruto, Sasuke did. I'm not sure who else, it wasn't mine to share.

[He doesn't know for sure, which means it could be more. That answer doesn't help him as much as he'd hoped it would. At least he hasn't been sharing the information himself. That's something.]

... How long was my brother here for?

I've been here almost a year now and he was here before I was by at least a few months.

[That long. Trapped here and away from his own world, learning things he shouldn't. It's probably for the best that he's gone back.

If he could just get past those damn fuzzy memories...]
