I mean, I've never been stupid, but things have been ridiculous lately.

It's pretty much a case of minor chakra usage so that the minor impacts of high speed travel don't really do much added to agility? I mean, scrapes still happen but... Tree hopping.

Ah, yes, that would explain it. I'm sure I could accomplish something similar back home... but there's nothing here that would support that kind of ability in humans, so I rather doubt that's the case here.

Most stealth is just a matter of focus and mindset you know. People can sneak up on someone wearing the brightest of things if no one expects to see them.

Are we going to assume, then, that anyone who would likely be a target for assassination isn't going to be expecting anyone making attempts on his life?

More like... timing and ways to lower the sense that right that second is the time to worry.

...well, I suppose that makes a certain amount of sense. Still, I don't see why you would go for the extra advantage of appropriate clothing, unless you have some sort of ability that fully masks your presence.

Well we do, but not everyone uses it or knows how.

It's just not the best skill for some people, and you gotta remember, if someone can do it, someone else can detect it.

Well, I haven't exactly experienced your world's system of magic, so suppose I'll just have take your word for how it works.

It's not magic, it's chakra. And are you telling me that in battles where you come from people don't work out defenses to enemy tactics?

And we do, but concealment is an ability I've always found fairly simple to use. Certainly, other sufficiently skilled mages can find ways around it, but it's not something I'd neglect simply because the possibility that it might not be permanently effective exists.

That's just it. There's levels from simple presence manipulation, to movement methods, to genjutsu. Everyone takes a different approach, and some neglect the others.

Well, as long as you're doing something to account for the bright clothes.

In some situations the bright clothes are their own deflection too y'know.

Perhaps if you're attempting to kill someone in an art exhibit dedicated to Piet Mondrian.

People ignore brightly colored people as a threat because 'who would think that's smart' tends to be the reflex

If that tactic is as common as you say, it seems like it would weed out people who had that reflex rather quickly.
