Kunai the 8th: [Video/Olivine Action]

[It's him, though only the goggles were in view, his headband having been neatly adjusted so that it was just dark blue cloth and the metal plate was quite hidden in the folds of material. It was definitely long enough for it. He was also lounging back on a bed with a blank wall behind him, his charmander dozing on his chest]

So. How many of you have had a moment where you're sitting there going 'when the hell did I become the smart one?'

I mean, I've never been stupid, but things have been ridiculous lately.

Ah, yes, that would explain it. I'm sure I could accomplish something similar back home... but there's nothing here that would support that kind of ability in humans, so I rather doubt that's the case here.
enjoymyatelier: but what would that even do. (gradients of babylon...?)

Which is more sensible than many people in this place, it seems.
enjoymyatelier: no seriously what are you doing (uhhhhhhhh....)

...Though, thinking about it... I admittedly don't know much about ninjas-then again, they're probably different in your world-but wouldn't covering up exposed skin be more suited to stealth? Unless there's some sort of makeup involved, I suppose.
enjoymyatelier: i think he's fucking her navel (that position is bizarre and improbable)

...

...Well, I'm sure you have abilities that account for that, so I can't say it's too strange, I suppose...
enjoymyatelier: zach. they're here. (migrane's a comin.)

Are we going to assume, then, that anyone who would likely be a target for assassination isn't going to be expecting anyone making attempts on his life?

...well, I suppose that makes a certain amount of sense. Still, I don't see why you would go for the extra advantage of appropriate clothing, unless you have some sort of ability that fully masks your presence.
enjoymyatelier: no seriously what are you doing (uhhhhhhhh....)

...why not? That seems like it would be absolutely essential.

Well, I haven't exactly experienced your world's system of magic, so suppose I'll just have take your word for how it works.

[...he sounds like he still thinks it's kind of silly though.]
enjoymyatelier: i am just done with this shit (ugh whatever)

It certainly sounds like magic. How does it work, exactly?

And we do, but concealment is an ability I've always found fairly simple to use. Certainly, other sufficiently skilled mages can find ways around it, but it's not something I'd neglect simply because the possibility that it might not be permanently effective exists.

Well, as long as you're doing something to account for the bright clothes.

Perhaps if you're attempting to kill someone in an art exhibit dedicated to Piet Mondrian.

[...no, he doesn't care if that reference was pretentious and inaccessible]

[...yeah, not very impressed over here, either...]

If that tactic is as common as you say, it seems like it would weed out people who had that reflex rather quickly.
