[The picture resolves itself at this point into a rather sheepish looking teenager, who is turning the device this way and that, clearly trying to determine which way was up.] I'm kinda new here and haven't gotten used to all the new technical stuff that this place seems to have. This thing is pretty sleek though right? Even if the road is pretty, well, snowy. And cold. But hey, I have Katon so it's not like I'll freeze!

Only a few of you might get what I'm getting at here but, um, did anyone else seriously fail the whole climbing ledges class after getting here that I could have sworn that I'd passed when I was seven? I mean, I got down fine but... serious issues getting back up.

Before I came here I was a pancake under some REALLY big rocks. And I was missing an eye, gave it to my teammate so he'd have two since -I- wasn't gonna be needing it anymore...

Then poof, woke up in one piece after dying and all that.

But you're okay now, right? Nothing's hurting and stuff?

Yeah! Yeah I'm good. A little cold, but Rin gave over his coat. His critter turns into all the things, it's awesome! But no pain anywhere. I woke up all whole, honest.

I'm starting to think you guys just have sad stories all over the place.

You're joking right? It's not sad at all! I died a Hero! I was protecting my teammates! That is the most kickass way to die and my name will be remembered forever and all the shinobi who come after, when they pay respect to the memorial stone, will see me there too, even if they don't -realize- they see it. I was angling for Hokage but eh, this'll work too.

If we weren't prepared for the danger that comes with our careers, no one would have let us put ourselves in danger like that in the first place.

It's not the risk. I mean, I've taken plenty of them.

But I don't know...

[ he hates losing friends, okay? ]

[He had no idea how to explain this nicely, and he sighed.]

Every shinobi knows that every mission they leave the village on might be the mission where they don't come home. We do the best we can to keep it from happening. Teamwork is -everything-. Your team relies on you and you rely on them, and that means that sometimes it's super hard if you lose someone. But it means that nobody gets left behind, and no one gets forgotten, see?

... In the worst case scenario that someone is lost and there isn't anything to do about it, the mission's completion becomes top priority for the remaining shinobi. But, we still try to make sure that everyone makes it out in one piece.

I couldn't do that.

And that's totally okay Sora! Not everyone is shinobi apt. I mean, there are tons of civilians out there. No danger, no worry yeah? Still, being a shinobi means you make a difference for your home, you see? So... even if there's a pretty steep downside, nobody gets to be a Hero without the risk.

[Again Sasuke goes quiet, because that's where he's starting to disagree with Obito. It's not about being a hero, not for him...]

I'm a Hero, you know.

[ technically junior hero, but bah. doesn't matter. ]

All I'm saying is that I'd be nothing without my friends. They're more important than any objective.

Well duh. Comrades before all else. [He blinked at him a couple times, baffled.] But if they gave their lives for it, and you can still -do- it, it'd be pretty messed up to not keep going right?

If you didn't complete the mission even after a comrade's fall, it would make their sacrifice mean nothing.

[Looking away from both Sora and the camera. It might be reminding him a little too much of the Land of Waves, now...]

But there's always a way to do both.

[ and you'll never convince him otherwise. Sasuke should know this. ]

If everyone is alive, then yes, of course there is! There's a reason Konoha has a 'medic for every team' policy. Or at least in my time -someone- always had the training because they'd be the one to linger back so that there -wouldn't- be any casualties.

Sometimes there isn't a way.

[Very very quiet. Yes, he does know this about Sora. But that doesn't mean Sasuke doesn't have his own expreiences, or Obito with his own as well.]
