Kunai the 8th: [Video/Olivine Action]

[It's him, though only the goggles were in view, his headband having been neatly adjusted so that it was just dark blue cloth and the metal plate was quite hidden in the folds of material. It was definitely long enough for it. He was also lounging back on a bed with a blank wall behind him, his charmander dozing on his chest]

So. How many of you have had a moment where you're sitting there going 'when the hell did I become the smart one?'

I mean, I've never been stupid, but things have been ridiculous lately.

Oh, no, I don't have...

[...]

...too many problems with my traveling group, even if they have their... quirks. Admittedly, I'm somewhat annoyed that I haven't managed to obtain the second badge yet after spending almost a year here, but that was primarily due to circumstances beyond our control.

[...that and the fact that neither he nor Tokiomi know anything about wilderness survival, but they've at least figured some things out after this long and in the worst case scenario he can get Armstrong to take care of it...]

It really could be worse. Admittedly, my initial statement was more of a general feeling rather than anything to do with my current traveling companions.

"Weird" is not the word I'd use, but I suppose it's somewhat accurate.

It's even worse with the natives here, given that you have about a fifty-fifty chance of the person you're speaking to either having a normal conversation with you or beginning to ramble about shorts or their Rattata or something along those lines.

It's not as if I have any clue. I can't tell if it's just some absurd cultural thing or if there's something else at play.
enjoymyatelier: god damn it is hard to be polite here. (you are straining the limits of my class)

Or some sense of social propriety, at least. Do I even remotely resemble the sort of person who would be interested in a conversation about shorts...?

Talking about the topic indirectly isn't the same as rambling about the topic itself to a complete stranger.

Merely that they're "comfy and easy to wear." Which I suppose I could see in a city setting, but when you have to travel through tall grass to get between cities... that's simply asking for an intensely uncomfortable journey.

That, or they actually enjoy having their legs torn up. It wouldn't surprise me one bit, given how bizarre they tend to be.
enjoymyatelier: no seriously what are you doing (uhhhhhhhh....)

[...those... those are female ninjas, right

...other worlds, man]

What is the way around it, exactly?
enjoymyatelier: maybe he should check the foundations, come to think of it. (red car. good point.)

Ah, yes, that would explain it. I'm sure I could accomplish something similar back home... but there's nothing here that would support that kind of ability in humans, so I rather doubt that's the case here.
enjoymyatelier: but what would that even do. (gradients of babylon...?)

Which is more sensible than many people in this place, it seems.
