[The first thing that everyone hears as the connection turns on is a rather loud, painful sounding clatter which indicated that the Pokédex had just made a rather abrupt acquaintance with the ground.]

Ah crap. Sorry! Sorry everyone! [The picture resolves itself at this point into a rather sheepish looking teenager, who is turning the device this way and that, clearly trying to determine which way was up.] I'm kinda new here and haven't gotten used to all the new technical stuff that this place seems to have. This thing is pretty sleek though right? Even if the road is pretty, well, snowy. And cold. But hey, I have Katon so it's not like I'll freeze!

[There was a nearly upside down showing of his Ponyta at this point before he finally settled on an angle, which thankfully seemed to be right way up as the camera focused on him again.] Anyway, I just wanted to give an all call and a hello to everyone out there and ask a rather uh, specialized question.

Only a few of you might get what I'm getting at here but, um, did anyone else seriously fail the whole climbing ledges class after getting here that I could have sworn that I'd passed when I was seven? I mean, I got down fine but... serious issues getting back up.

Yeah, I had comrades. I -wanted- to be friends, don't get me wrong but... it just... never quite worked out that way you know? I'm pretty sure friends don't get scornful to the point of declaring someone useless on a regular basis so... yeah. It'll be a nice change, something a little less harsh.

Depends on the friends. Sometimes you can say things that sound pretty harsh, but they don't mean the same things they might to a stranger.

At least, I think it works like that. Guys junk-talk or whatever it was.

That only works when you both know that the other guy isn't trying to hurt you. Trust me, Kakashi-jerk tended to aim to be as cutting as possible, and he's really smart too so he knew how to come at it. Which sucks. Lots.

Well...does he have friends?

Not a one. I think he likes it that way he...

Stuff went really bad for him, so I -get- it, but he doesn't make it easy to keep trying to get close, you know?

I doubt anyone likes being alone, but sometimes they believe it's tougher to get hurt that way.

Sounds like a tough nut to crack, but I'd say it's worth trying.

Yeah. I think my death finally got to him though! I gave him one of my eyes and he had this look, like he actually wanted to cry, yeah?

[Yes, Obito looked far too pleased about this.] So... I think he might have finally decided I was his friend. Not that I got any benefits out of that but eh, that's not the important bit yeah?

I suppose we'll have to see at what point in time he comes from. We're all different, the people from the worlds I know.

[He nodded quickly and flashed him a grin]

Yeah, I mean, for all we know next time I see him he'll be some old man. Not that you can tell, he's got paler hair than you. Sticks up worse than mine too. Wears a mask. At least he did while -I- knew him so...

Hm... [He tries to picture this. It's...probably not at all like the real thing] Sounds pretty distinctive.

And his eyes won't match cause his were lighter than mine and well, I gave him one of mine and that side had a bad cut that might scar. If he didn't get it fixed up well enough I mean.

It sounds like he might not stand out more if he had a neon sign over his head.

Well, he -could- be subtle when he was working. He just usually... failed. Spectacularly. Very flashy. He uses lightning jutsu too and you don't get louder and flashier than that. Even fire is quieter.

Guess we'll have no problems spotting him whenever he does turn up, in that case. Maybe he'll wind up with an Electric type.

Maybe... it would so serve him right if it was as cranky as him too!

It could happen. I've seen stranger things.

And if he's from before stuff you'll see just what I was talking about with the total jerkness. I mean, he almost left our other teammate to die. He came after us at the last minute, but he wasn't -going- to.

Although he doesn't sound like the type to admit it, I think it's pretty straightforward. The only variable was whatever you said, and nothing in the worlds changes with absolutely no cause.

Well, I have a motto see, that was inspired by something he was constantly saying. "Those who break the rules are trash, but those who abandon their comrades are worse than trash." I yelled a few more things at him than that, but I was tired of him saying things like that because I wouldn't always follow the narrow rules and I -wouldn't- abandon our other teammate for them.
